ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended. The course requires physical exertion, and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2.
We appreciate that each student has different knowledge and learning levels when enrolling onto their course. That’s why all of our learners will be given access to their course content via Active IQ’s online interactive dashboard before attending any workshop or classroom delivery.
The dashboard is equipped with material and resources, but more importantly engaging modules of each unit of the course. The dashboard can also be viewed remotely by your course tutor to offer support as and when necessary. This allows all learners to access their course content enabling them to study at a rate and pace that they are comfortable with before immersing themselves into the practical elements of the course.
Blended Learning
Blended workshops – complete e-learning support from the National Academy team, followed by 4 face to face sessions held on the weekend between 9am and 4pm.

The Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills that are needed to plan, deliver and supervise safe but effective exercise programmes within a gym or health club environment.
